OUR JOURNEY TO YOUR TABLE
Our story begins with a parent's promise: to find a peaceful home for our children. In 2017, fleeing the civil war in Syria, we arrived in Victoria as refugees. We didn't have much, but we had our family, our grandmother's recipes, and a dream of rebuilding our lives.
The Victoria community welcomed us with open arms, and their kindness gave us the courage to share the one thing we knew best: our food. We started with a small table at the Moss Street Market, selling homemade baklava. From those humble beginnings, and with overwhelming local support, the dream of a restaurant became a reality.

A PHILOSOPHY OF FRESHNESS
We follow a simple rule in our kitchen: if it isn't good enough for our own family, it isn't good enough for your table. This belief guides every choice we make. It's why we are one of the only restaurants in the city that insists on using fresh, never-frozen chicken, a standard we will never compromise on. It's why we handpick our produce and source authentic spices to bring the true taste of Syria to life.
This commitment to quality isn't a business strategy; it's a tradition, passed down from our grandmothers, for whom freshness was the only way.

"For me, cooking has always been an act of love. When I am in the kitchen, I am not just a chef; I am a mom preparing a meal for my family. This is the energy and care I want to share with every person who walks through our door.
When you taste our food, I hope you taste the generations of tradition in our recipes, the quality of the fresh ingredients, and above all, the love that we put into every single plate. Seeing you smile after the first bite is the greatest reward I could ever ask for. Thank you for letting our family cook for yours."

We are incredibly grateful for the journey so far, and we are filled with excitement for what's to come. Our family is growing, and so is our dream. We are thrilled to be working towards the grand opening of the Syriana Cafe in 2026, where we look forward to sharing traditional Syrian coffee, pastries, and community in a new space.

What a fabulous find!... The place was simple and looked family run. They were so friendly and welcoming... The minced beef on the bread which looked like pizza was heavenly. I couldn't stop eating. The cherry on the top was Syrian coffee. Probably the best coffee I ever had.
